Edinburgh Windows and Doors ltd have a specialist sash and case window division. EWD sash and case, Information can be found at: www.ewdsashandcase.co.uk As a group we have been refurbishing 136 windows at Craighouse. This has been an ongoing project spanning Manu months. We have fully stripped all the windows at the historic Edinburgh site. The glass in most cases was smashed due to vandalism in the site. We have replaced all the glass with traditional 4mm float which keeps the windows with the same historic look as when they were first designed. This has been a fantastic project to work on and it has been a pleasure to work with Qmile Group on getting the building refurnished. Craighouse is setting new standards for Category A listed conversions, within the city and beyond. We’re sympathetically restoring each building and its unique features to its original grandeur, whilst blending seamlessly with luxury, contemporary interiors. The oldest building on the site is Old Craig. This 16th century house has been home to a number of distinguished figures over the years, including one of Edinburgh’s wealthiest families, the Dicks of the Hermitage of Braid. In 1861, it was bought by the historian, Dr John Hill Burton, who used the house to contain his library of over 10,000 books. https://www.qmile.com/group/33-craighouse
