The 14th-century tower was originally occupied by the Bishops of Dunkeld for over 200 years, then by Archibald Douglas of Kilspindie and later by James Inglis of Edinburgh in the 17th century. After the nearby Cramond House was built in the 18th century the tower remained unoccupied and ruinous for another 200 years, until George bought it during the 1970s and restored it to its present elegance. Edinburgh Windows and Doors were delighted when George provided us the opportunity to replace an old sash and case windowing the main tower. The tower provides its own challenges mainly getting anything up the twisting stairs, the new window does a great job of canceling out noise from the surrounding area and also retaining heat in this old building. Images below show the process from beginning to end.
