Edinburgh Windows and Doors were given the opportunity to supply Accoya Timber, sash and case windows for a project in the south of England. From an initial site visits with Simon the property owner, along with James the local builder. who was charged with completing the renovation project on the beautiful farm building. we have manufactured from solid beams 24 pane sash and case windows and three Accoya doors. The timber selection was an essential part of the process as Simon wanted to retain the look and feel of traditional windows. But have the longevity benefits of a top graded timber. Accoya will last for 50 years without showing any signs of rot, unlike some soft woods which would need replacing long before then. The windows have been supplies with heritage double glazed units and are fully draught proofed and coated with a 3 part spray finish. This project is the farthest the team have traveled for a window supply project but the travel was well worth it as the windows really make the building stand out in the county surroundings.
