We were contacted to see if we could assist with draughts that were significantly reducing the effectiveness of radiators and the general heat in this large Edinburgh town house. Due to the height of ceilings and the size of rooms it is important that any heat generated by the radiators is not lost straight away through draughty windows. EWD conducted an initial survey and the customer was happy to proceed with our window draught proofing option, we arranged the work to be conducted within a matter of weeks. The initial stage of this project is to sort two large living room windows. The work was complete in one day, the sashes were removed from there case and routed out twice along each side. We also router meeting rails and the top and bottom of the sash itself. We can also change parting and staff beads for draught proof replacements. The brush pile was fixed to the window and the sashes were re installed. The difference was immediate and will make a huge difference in heat retention for this customer. We are looking forward to finishing the rest of the windows in this beautiful town house.
