We were contacted by Katrina at south Queensferry who was looking for a full refurbishment on her existing timber sash windows. After conducting a free survey we established that the existing windows were in a condition that refurbishment would bring them back to a grey condition. We stripped the paint and removed all the old sand mastic and locks/handles. We have re glazed a number of broken panes re puttied the existing sashes where the putty had fallen out. We have replaced the pulleys, re weighted the windows and roped the sashes. Due to the location of the property it suffers from poor weather conditions so draught proofing the windows was essential and will make all the difference in the winter months. Katrina was also looking for shutters to be installed. We have manufactured these from scratch to match the windows exactly. This has been an on going project and returning customer so we look forward to continuing work with the rest of the windows in the property.
